| My grandson saved up his allowance for this toy. He likes playing with it. He did find it difficult to assemble but once together it stays together. He says he would recommend it to others. |

For My 5 Year Old Nephew In Ohio

| My 5 year old nephew loves these transformers. They are a little more complicated to transform, but after about 2 hours he was doing so on his own. The hip shields do not want to stay on very well which is really the only problem we found with the design. The parts are very small so for a very young child they may not be a good choice. Overall they are worth the price. My nephew has many transformers and he says these are his "best favorites". He really liked the idea of getting six tramsformer options in one package. Can't beat that! |
You'll be hunting for missing parts in less than 24 hours

| My son's grandpa got him Jetstorm and Jetfire today, and in less then 24 hours we have had a hip guard fall off of both figures. One we found but can't get to reattach and one has been lost permanently. Try consoling your 4-5 year old about that on the first day they get the toy! Otherwise my son loves these figures and is learning how to read instructions, so they have some educational value. If you could pay $.[..] to replace the parts you will inevitably lose off these toys, it might be worth it! |

As an adult collector of Transformers, I was really excited about the Transformers: Animated figures. They managed to be very close to how the characters looked on the show, and were very impressively engineered with their transformations as well.
I originally passed on Jetfire/Jetstorm because they look extremely silly. When I realized this was the last one I needed to have the complete collection, I broke down and bought it just because. I'm glad my collection is complete now, but... I could have easily lived without this.
By themselves, the twins are ok. They've got a wide range of articulation. In Jet mode, they work all right by themselves. Combining them is a bit... odd. Two jets belly-to-belly. Mmm....Yeah, ok. Whatever.
They also combine to form Safeguard. The thing looks... stupid. I give them major props for making a toy of this at all, but it just doesn't really work for me. With a majority of the toys being awesome, this falls into the category of lame.
And, as others have mentioned, parts will come off this quite easily. The hip-protector pieces will fall off for no reason whatsoever. I've even had the legs themselves pop off the joint while doing the Safeguard combination.
So, yeah, it's kind of a lackluster toy. Not very solid at all. And not very impressive, either.
Do yourself a favor and pick up Shockwave--the best toy in this whole line--if you don't have it already. |
